1. Who we are
Halionix operates Taxora, a local-first receipt bookkeeping application for iOS and Android. In this policy, "Taxora," "we," and "our" refer to the Taxora application and Halionix.
2. Scope of this policy
This policy explains how Taxora V1 accesses, uses, stores, shares, retains, and deletes information. It covers the Taxora mobile application and the public pages at taxora.halionix.com.
Taxora V1 does not require an account, cloud synchronization, or subscription. Halionix does not operate a receipt-storage server for V1.
3. Data Taxora handles
Taxora handles information you provide or choose to create in the app:
| Data | Examples | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Receipt images | Photos captured by the camera or selected from your photo library | Run OCR, let you compare extracted fields, and preserve source evidence |
| Receipt fields | Merchant, address, date, time, subtotal, HST/GST, tip, total, category, payment method, and notes | Create the bookkeeping record you review and confirm |
| Optional location | Foreground device location when you enable location capture | Attach location context to a receipt |
| Custom content | Custom fields and manually entered line items | Let you organize records for your own workflow |
| Audit history | Create, edit, review, confirm, export, and delete actions with timestamps | Document how a record changed over time |
| Exports | CSV, PDF, and ZIP files you create | Let you preserve or share your records |
4. How Taxora uses data
Taxora uses receipt images and fields to perform the actions you request: extract text, prepare a draft record, show confidence warnings, save confirmed fields, display receipt history, and create exports.
Core extraction runs on the device. iOS uses Apple Vision OCR. Android uses bundled PaddleOCR first and may use an on-device ML Kit text-recognition fallback when PaddleOCR is unavailable or produces weak receipt-specific output. Taxora does not send receipt images to a third-party cloud AI extraction service for core OCR.
Taxora V1 does not use receipt information for advertising, behavioral profiling, data brokerage, or training an artificial intelligence model.
5. Local storage and security
Taxora stores receipt records and images in the app's private local storage. Access is also affected by your device passcode, operating-system security, backups, and any sharing destinations you select.
Protect your device with a passcode, install operating-system security updates, and keep exported files only in locations you trust. No storage method can guarantee absolute security.
6. Device permissions
- Camera: used when you photograph a receipt.
- Flashlight or torch: requested during in-app receipt capture when supported to improve image quality. Taxora records a local fallback when lighting is unavailable.
- Photo library: used when you choose an existing receipt image.
- Foreground location: used only when you enable optional receipt-location capture.
Taxora V1 does not need microphone, background-location, advertising, or tracking permission. You can change camera, photo, or location permissions in your device settings. Denying optional location does not stop receipt capture or import.
8. Retention and deletion
Saved records remain on your device until you remove them, clear Taxora's application data, or uninstall the app, subject to any device backups you control.
Removing a saved receipt hides it from the normal receipt table. Taxora retains the local audit event showing that the deletion occurred and may retain associated local image evidence until a permanent-purge feature is available. Deleting Taxora or clearing its application data removes the app's local working data from that device, subject to operating-system backups.
Because V1 has no Taxora account or receipt server, Halionix generally cannot view, recover, or delete the information stored only on your device. Privacy requests sent to Halionix can address information Halionix actually holds, such as an email you send to support.
9. Your privacy choices
- Review and edit extracted fields before saving.
- Leave missing information blank.
- Disable optional location capture.
- Revoke app permissions in device settings.
- Choose whether and where to export records.
- Remove local records or uninstall Taxora.
Taxora V1 does not create accounts, so there is no Taxora account-deletion process.
10. This website
These public pages do not use advertising cookies, behavioral analytics, account login, or contact forms. When you visit, the hosting provider may process basic network information such as your Internet Protocol address, browser information, requested page, and time of access to deliver and secure the site.
Emailing support sends information through your email provider. Include only the information needed to answer your question and redact receipt details where possible.
11. Children's privacy
Taxora is a bookkeeping tool and is not directed to children. V1 does not create user accounts or knowingly collect children's personal information through a Taxora service. A device owner should supervise any use by a minor.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Taxora's features, data handling, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected in the app or store listing when required.
